SHORE PROTECTION BREAKWATER

摘要

FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: breakwater is made up of half-drowned blocks with bevelled front face instaled in row with clearance relative to each other. Bevelled front face has lateral ribs and through tapered opening is made over center of gravity of block. Breakwater functions as follows. Oncoming water wave is broken and its energy is dampened mainly on bevelled front faces of blocks and in clearances between them. Thus loosened wave carrying sand and rubble reaches shore and when spreading over above-water shore slope loses its remaining energy. At backsweeping, wave which lost its energy flows back to water basin leaving beach forming rift behind itself. EFFECT: high efficiency. 1 cl, 3 dwg
