PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply measure the distance between two points in a space by using a camera and an indication plate. SOLUTION: An indication plate 3 is installed on a track in such a way that the same plane (simulation plane) 2 as an obstacle is formed, and the obstacle and the indication plate 3 are photographed by a camera 4. A position in which the indication plate 3 is to be seen originally on a monitor screen 11 is calculated backward on the basis of positional coordinate data on the camera and on the basis of directional data, on the camera, which has been set in advance. A frame-shaped display 12 is shown in the position. When the frame-shaped display 12 is overlapped with the image of the indication plate 3, the direction of the camera 4 with reference to the simulation plane 2 can be set as it has been set.
