<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a vehicle detector to detect vehicles with high sensitivity and high accuracy by making the meshes of a protective net longer in the detecting direction of a sensor. SOLUTION: A vehicle entering a parking lot is detected by fitting a platy protective net 19 along the front face of the main body of a vehicle detector and an ultrasonic wave detecting sensor S1 set in a detecting direction 20 on the inside of the net 19 an interval. The opening shapes of a plurality of meshes 22 formed in the protective net 19 are made longer in the detecting direction 20 of the sensor S1 . Therefore, the opening areas of the meshes 22 which are made longer in the direction 20 can be increased and a sufficient amount of signals can be obtained from the sensor S1 even when the fitting angles of the sensor S1 to the net 19 is different from a prescribed angle and the platy surface of the net 19 is deflected from the direction 20. In addition, the sensitivity and accuracy of the signal of the sensor S1 can be improved always in the detecting area 24.</p> |
