<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharply improve the quantum efficiency of an electron, generated by an electric gun, by using laser beams having two different or the same wavelength. SOLUTION: Given voltage is applied on an anode plate 4 provided opposite to a cathode electrode 3, wherein a heater coil 2 is wouned on a cathode 1 using photoelectric emitting material to preheat, by first laser beam, the cathode 1 from a room temperature condition, or in a condition where heating is made by the heating coil 2. After that moreover, irradiation is continued by a laser beam, having a different or the same wavelength capable of generating a photoelectron, to emit the photoelectron to exceptionally improve quantum efficiency for generating an electron.</p> |
