PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve utilization factor of a positive electrode, and maintain high capacity after storage in high-temperature atmosphere, by putting alkaline electrolyte in a container after evaporating alkaline aqueous solution by heating in the container accommodating a group of electrodes. SOLUTION: A group of electrodes wherein a separator is interposed between a positive electrode and a negative electrode are accommodated in a bottomed cylindrical container. Alkaline aqueous solution consisting of aqueous solution such as sodium hydroxide, lithium hydroxide, etc., is put in the container. The alkaline aqueous solution is evaporated by heating the container in atmosphere containing oxygen. Next, alkaline electrolyte is put in the container, and the container is sealed to manufacture an alkaline secondary battery. It is to be desired that the temperature to evaporate the alkaline aqueous solution should be in the range of about 50-150 deg.C. |
