PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste electrode for a lead-acid battery, that has high active material strength and is enhanced as to the rates of utilizing both an active material and an electrolyte. SOLUTION: 0.05 to 0.5wt.% acid-resistant, porous short fibers (e.g. polypropylene fibers) are blended in an active material. The short fibers are previously impregnated with an anionic active agent of a straight chain alkyl sulfate (e.g. 1,2-bis(2-ethylhexyloxycarbonyl)-1-sodium ethane sulfonate). |
