A compost maker, which is self contained and mobile, consists of a rotary cylindrical container (I) which is mounted at an angle on two rollers (4) which are turned by a wind rotor (II) through a low gear transmission system (III). The rollers which support and turn the container are set on a frame (IV) which has wheels (13) at one end to allow it to be moved. The container is filled through an opening (3) at its upper end, equipped with spiral guide (3), and its surface is in the form of a mesh or has perforations which allow small particles of composted material to pass through it into a collecting trough (V) below.
