The tunnel is formed from a rigid grill material, with a mesh of a specific size. It is formed with a base plane (2), which has a greater density of longitudinal wires in the mesh and is designed to sit directly on the ground or on a base platform. The transverse wires of the mesh are located to control the general size of the mesh (4), which is designed to keep out cats and other undesirable animals. The structure has the form of semi circle, or may be angular in a polygonal form, with from 2 to 10 sides. The ends of the tunnels are closed by end panels made from the same material. The wire tunnel is used as a support for a translucent plastics film, or other materials, as required for a variety of protective functions.
