PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor by which image quality is improved by making gradation between blocks consecutive with respect to an image having block noise by block coding. SOLUTION: A control point decision section 2 reads a reference picture element from a decoding image storage section 1 based on a block address from a block address generating section 3 and outputs control point information. A boundary condition decision section 4 based thereon decides vector information and an interpolation processing section 5 uses a twin cubic curved plane to conduct interpolation and the result is stored in a buffer 7. On the other hand, a control point comparison section 6 discriminates the propriety of interpolation to output inhibit information. Furthermore, a picture element block outputted by a 8×8 picture element block segmentation section 9 is stored in a buffer 8 and an in-block variance calculation section 10 calculates the variance and outputs variance information. A buffer changeover decision section 11 selects either of the buffers 7, 8 based on the inhibit information and the variance information to select a buffer changeover section 12 and allows a decoding image storage section 13 to store the selected output. |
