DEVICE FOR PREDICTING AMOUNT OF RAINFALL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for predicting the amount of rainfall which can accurately recognize the distribution of the amount of rainfall regardless of the type of the rainfall and can improve the predicting accuracy of the movement of the area where it is raining. SOLUTION: The device for predicting the amount of rainfall is provided with a means 2 for calculating distribution of amount of rainfall which calculates the distribution of the amount of rainfall at every prescribed time interval by using raindrop data obtained from a radar rain gauge 1 at every prescribed time interval, a movement vector calculating means 3 which calculates the movement vector of the distribution of the amount of the rainfall calculated with time by the means 2, and a moving locus calculating means 4 which calculates the moving locus of the distribution of the amount of the rainfall by using the movement vectors from the past to the present calculated by the means 3. The device is also provided with a rainfall retrieving means 5 which retrieves the moving locus of the rainfall resemble to the moving locus calculated by the means 4 and form moving loci prepared from past actual rainfall data and a moving locus predicting means 6 which predicts the future moving locus of the rainfall by using the moving loci of the rainfall retrieved by the means 5.
