PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the menu screen data generation device which can automatically generate menu screen data without any operator's hand operation. SOLUTION: When there is an indication from a generation start part 17, a background image extraction part 14 takes a background image out of a background image storage part 12 according to an indication from a control part 18 and takes a selection button image of an unselected state or selected state out of a selection image storage part 11 for each selection button, and an image composition part 15 puts the taken-out background image and selection button image together to generate menu screen data and stores the generated menu screen data in a composite image storage part 16, frame by frame.
