<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input device of high precision which does not have the problem of a decrease in input speed by previously detecting a rough abutting position of a coordinate indicating means in addition to coordinate input of a table and calculating the accurate coordinates on the basis of the detected position. SOLUTION: When an operator makes the detection electrode 6 at the tip of an input pen 5 abut on a point D on the board surface of the table 1, the rear end of this input pen 5 leaves a point A or B at an end part on a rail 12, so a fixed member 11 is drawn because of the elasticity of a cable 7 to slide on the rail 12 in parallel to a coordinate axis, so that it stops at nearly the same position B on the axis as the abutting position. At this time, the electric signal from a transmission type photointerrupter 13 which is shielded by a shutter plate 14 installed on the fixed member 11 from light is sent out to a CPU 10 to calculate the rough position on the tablet 1 in the CPU 10. A signal for capacitive coupling is applied to only an electrode line 2 nearby the rough position and the CPU 10 computes the abutting position. Consequently, the coordinate position can be calculated speedily and precisely.</p> |
