PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect not only hand shake but the camera shake of high frequency by making the shake detection threshold frequency of a 1st shake detection means larger than that of a 2nd shake detection means and making the shake direction of a camera part caused as reaction nearly aligned with the shake detecting sensitivity direction of the 1st shake detecting means. SOLUTION: A pitch gyroscope GRP1 and a yaw gyroscope GRY1 are arranged in an interchangeable lens LNS. The angular velocity componentωp of pitch shake is detected by the pitch gyroscope GRY1 and shake correction lens group LIS is driven in a direction DP so as to correct the pitch shake. In the same manner, the angular velocity componentωy is detected by the yaw gyroscope GRY1 and the lens group LIS is driven in a direction DY so as to correct yaw shake. Since the camera CMR is provided with a quick return mirror QRM and a focal-plane shutter SHT and the camera shake of high frequency is caused in a pitch direction, the vibrator VBP1 of the pitch gyroscope GRP1 is thickened to enhance the ability of detecting the shake of high frequency.
