The two shoe segments (2,3), are placed symmetrically on one side and the other of a vertical diametrical plane (P) and pushed apart from this plane to engage via linings (12) with the interior cylindrical face (1a) of the drum. They are held elastically at rest against a lower spacer (6) and against an upper fixed stop (7) each with a curved plate (13) carrying the friction pad. The upper end of the curved plate of each segment adjacent to the fixed stop when at rest, has a guide (18) solid with and projecting from the plate (9), which extends under this end (13b), to prevent the segments sliding downwards.
