PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing the electrode of an electric double-later capacitor of higher performance from resin as starting material. SOLUTION: Resin material is heated together with element which forms water-soluble chloride at a first heating temperature higher than its fusing point but lower than a temperature at which oxidation starts, whereby calcined resin is manufactures. The calcined resin is cooled down to a normal temperature and pulverized into calcined resin powder, the clcined resin powder is pressed into a body, and the body is heated at a second heating temperature higher than a temperature at which resin starts being oxidized for the formation of a carbon body. |
