PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide permanent magnetic powder of high performance wherein the maximum magnetic energy product is improved. SOLUTION: This permanent magnetic powder is expressed by general formula Rx Ny M100-x-y ...(I) where R is at least one kind of element selected out of rare earth elements containing Y, Sc, Hf and Zr, M is Fe or composed of Fe and Co wherein Fe is at least 50% of atomic percentage, and (x) and (y) satisfy 2<=x<=20 and 1<=y<=15, respectively. The powder contains α-Fe phase of at least 50vol%, and an α-Fe lsyer of 1nm-1μm in thickness is formed on the surface. |
