PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly reliable igniter for an internal combustion engine, excellent in heat shock resistance insulation and durability. SOLUTION: A center core 7, a low voltage side core 18 or a high voltage side core 9 is built in a resilient compositional member, e.g. a primary bobbin 1, a secondary bobbin 3 or a case 5, or the high voltage side core 9 is placed in a pocket part 3a made in the secondary bobbin 3, or the low voltage side core 18 is coated with a resilient member thus isolating them from insulating epoxy resin 6 in an igniter for the internal combustion engine.
