PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence and growth of the wheel track of a vehicle by attaining the automatic steering of the vehicle to vary the reference position and the target displacement value of the vehicle in its width direction against the reference line set along a road and in accordance with the lapse of time. SOLUTION: When the center of a vehicle is shifted to the right or left from the reference line set along a road, the distances vary between the magnetic markers buried in the road at every fixed space and the magnetic pickup sensors 22 and 24 and the deviation of output signals is caused between the amplifier circuits 44 and 46 of an electronic control unit 20. Then an electric motor continuously produces the steering torque until the signal deviation is eliminated. At the same time, a time function setting circuit 56 slowly and periodically supplies the function value varying in a sine wave shape, for example, to an amplification factor changing circuit 52 in accordance with the lapse of time. When the circuit 52 changes the amplification factors of both circuits 44 and 46 according to the received function value, the vehicle is driven with the distance between the center of the vehicle and the reference line of the road set corresponding to the function value. |
