The wheelchair comprises a support frame (1) with, at least, a seat (2), a seat back (3), one, preferably two, front wheels (4) with connecting elements (7). It has either demountable manually controlled rear wheels (8), or demountable rear wheels (10) with an electric motor drive (20), that is gearless, that has rechargeable and/or exchangeable power source (40). The motor drive has a housing (21), that is rotatably fixed to the wheel rim of the rear wheels, whilst a rotatable attachable hub bearing holder (22) is axially fitted to the wheel chair support frame. The motor may be a collector-less rotary current motor, and may have, at the hub bearing holder, a stator with a magnetic rotational field producing coil. A rotor (27) with a permanent magnet may be present at the motor housing. |
