An electrical connector comprises a core part made from or provided with a coating of a thermochromic material and a transparent outer casing through which the thermochromic material may be viewed. In the event that the connector overheats, the thermochromic material will change color at predetermined temperature thereby indicating to a user that the connector is overheating thereby allowing the connector to be disconnected from a power supply.
