<p>A stapler (102) with a storage chamber (145) having an opening which is closeable by a removable door or slipper (112). The slipper includes a flexible perimeter (142) which fits on a frame (170, 180) in the staple storage chamber. The stapler may further include one or more of the following: i) a device (118) for stabilizing the pivotal connection between the slipper and the base (110) when the slipper is opened and limiting pivotal displacement of theslipper; ii) a retaining device (114) for selectively retaining and releasing the slipper relative to a base of the stapler; iii) a magnetic device (116) for magnetically attaching the stapler to objets; iv) a reinforcement device (168) for supporting an anvil (120) of the stapler and frictionally latching the slipper to the base; and v) an arrangement (164) for frictionally retaining the anvil to the base of the stapler.</p> |
