Class 98(2) The film comprises a base and an anti-static layer containing gelatin and a taurine of formula wherein R-CO denotes a radical of a fatty acid of vegetable origin, R 1 is hydrogen, an aliphatic straight-chain radical, aliphatic-aromatic radical or aromatic radical, and X is hydrogen, an alkali metal or an organic base radical, in which taurine the total number of carbon atoms is at least eight, the anti-static layer also containing hydrated silica or polymerized silicic acid. This layer itself may also be a photographic silver halide emulsion layer, or may be positioned on one of such, or between emulsion and base or may be a backing layer. An example is directed to the second of these modifications and indicates a static test for such as compared with a control. |
