PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the occurrence of a false operation and to ensure the prevention of the accident of crash of trains on a single track by propagating acoustic waves on rails for communication between the trains and by stopping the trains on the occasion when they come near to each other unnecessarily. SOLUTION: An up train has an acoustic wave transmitter of 1000Hz, for instance, and an acoustic wave receiver which can receive an acoustic wave of 2000Hz, for instance. The train runs on rails while impressing an acoustic wave of 1000Hz on the rails. A down train, the other side of communication, transmits the wave of 2000Hz likewise and runs on these rails while receiving the wave of 1000Hz, When the trains come near to each other, the acoustic wave is received by each of them without being attenuated and the outbreak of the danger of crash can be recognized. When the amounts of attenuation of the received waves are larger than predetermined ones, a distance between the trains is judged to be large enough to be free form the danger of crash and thus they can be operated safely. |
