Device to prevent rearing-up of front wheel on two or three wheeled vehicle

The process prevents the front wheel from rearing up on a two- or three- wheeled vehicle, which has a sprung front wheel suspension (1). The spring travel of the suspension is sensed, and the power or the effective torque of the transmission is reduced, if the spring travel exceeds a predetermined amount. The process may be applied to a vehicle with an internal combustion engine, in which the power reduction is achieved by interrupting the ignition current. A sensor (10) which is arranged in the path of a moving component (8) of the front suspension, in order to sense the spring travel, is also discussed.
