Electrode for corona treatment of plastic films

Plastic films are subjected to corona treatment from an electrode (10) with a roller acting as counter electrode. The electrode has an electrically conductive core (4) which is located in at least one bore (2, 3) running parallel to the roller. At each point of the electrode the cross sectional area of the core is less than that of the bore, the core being table to expand thermally within the bore. The core is pref. of metal and essentially consists of a coil spring bearing on the inside wall of the bore. Alternatively, it may comprise metal bars or tubes. The electrode body is pref. of ceramic material.
