Method for removing paint faults from vehicle bodywork

The faulty areas of paintwork are first prepared for paint repair. The edges around the faulty area are stuck with an adhesive tape. The bodywork surfaces to be protected, against paint spray and the area of the bodywork to be repaired, are completely masked by applying a removable lacquer. After drying the removable lacquer is removed from the area to be repaired along the adhesive edges. The exposed faulty area is repaired, the repair lacquer is allowed to set and then the removable lacquer is removed from the remaining surface areas. The removable lacquer can be applied by electrostatic spraying.
