Personal computer control method for temp. protection

The temp. within the IBM-compatible personal computer is measured and compared with a threshold value for reducing the loading of the processor when the internal temp. is above threshold, to protect the computer components from overheating. A plug-in card (2) is fitted in a free location (6) of the main board (7), with a control device (10) having a number of temp. sensors (22,24,26,27,28) and associated A-D converters (12,14,16,17,18), providing temp. values compared with the threshold value for controlling the processor loading and/or providing a corresponding indication on the monitor screen.
