The invention relates to a device for aligning flat objects transported on a subsurface conveyor belt against a boundary arranged along the side of the subsurface conveyor strip, and for simultaneous pressing of the flat objects on the subsurface conveyor belt. The invention proposes that a continuous guiding band (2) moving at the same speed is arranged above the subsurface conveyor belt (1) and is twisted in such a manner many times on the side facing the subsurface conveyor belt (1) and is at such a distance from the subsurface conveyor belt (1) that guiding band (2) edges which extend obliquely towards the boundary and are between two respective twisted bends exert pressure and orienting forces on the flat objects (5).
