The equipment has a pneumatic drive unit for a slewing mass, with two pistons guided in parallel cylinders (11P1,11P2;11H1,11H2) and connected by rods (131;132) which enmesh with a pinion (14) at diagonally opposite places. The pinion has a ball bearing, and is connected to a supporting plate for the mass. The unit has two pneumatic pistons (12P1,12P2) which are arranged on one side of a housing (1), and which can be acted upon alternately by compressed air. Each piston has an associated end-position adjusting unit (5P1,5P2), and is connected by a rod to a hydraulic piston (12H1,12H2) on the other side of the housing, which acts upon a hydraulic fluid in a closed system. The fluid is forced from one hydraulic cylinder to the other via adjustable equipment (2H) which regulates its flow, in order to control the slewing period of the pneumatic drive. Each hydraulic piston is associated with an adjustable end-position damping unit (3H1,3H2).
