摘要 (Meth)acrylic copolymers of general formula (1) are described, wherein all M<+>s are monovalent cations formed from the total or partial neutralization of -COOH groups; R1 and R2 are selected from hydrogen, straight or branched long chain alkyl or cycloalkyl radicals and aryl radicals with 8 to about 22 carbon atoms, with the proviso that at least one of R1 and R2 is not hydrogen; R3 and R4 are independently selected from a hydrogen atom, short chain alkyl or cycloalkyl radicals with 1 to 7 carbon atoms and aryl radicals with 6 to 7 carbon atoms; R5, R6 and R7 are each independently selected from a hydrogen atom and a methyl radical; tau 1 is the molar ratio of the long chain amide units in the copolymer and tau 2 is the molar ratio of the short chain amide units that may be present in the copolymer. Their weight average molecular weight is equal to 30,000 or less and tau 1 is 0.01 - 0.30. The invention is useful for pigment dispersions.
