Control of transformer in converter or inverter

In a procedure for controlling a transformer in a PWM half- or full- bridge converter or inverter where either a primary winding of the transformer or the voltage supply to it is periodically reversed and the duration of any such connection is dependent of the required magnitude of the output voltage at the transformer secondary, the duration of a pulse generated directly for a required change in output voltage is only determined thereby corresponding to a portion of the required voltage change. In particular, it corresponds to the average of the actual required magnitude and the previous required magnitude, not only for increase but also for decrease in output voltage.
