PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology able to automatically optimize a picture signal processing characteristic to be displayed on a PDP according to its characteristic when an optical filter is replaced according to a using environment or the like of a display. SOLUTION: An optical filter 2, a PDP 3 and a driving part 4 are arranged in the inner part of a display window 1a of a casing 1 of a plasma display device, and a picture signal or the like is supplied to the PDP 3 from the driving part 4, and an image is displayed. A label 2a to show a characteristic of the optical filter 2 exists on a right upper part of the optical filter 2, and a discriminating means 5 of the lable is arranged on the driving part 4 of its inner part. When the optical filter 2 is replaced, the driving part 4 discriminates a characteristic of its optical filter 2 by the discriminating means 5, and picture signal processing according to it is performed, and it is supplied to the PDP 3, and an excellent image is displayed. A notch 2b exists in a left lower part of the optical filter 2, and since it is fitted to a projection 6 arranged on the driving part, the installing direction of the optical filter 2 is limited to one. |
