THIN METAL SHEET STRUCTURE EFFECTIVE FOR SOUND DAMPING

A thin metal sheet structure which can effectively lower a sound pressure level and quickly damp metallic sounds generated when the metal thin sheet structure is knocked. In a flat sheet-like or box-like structure comprising outer thin metal sheet and beams for reinforcing the former, each reinforcing beam (2) is brought into abutment with one of the surfaces of each thin metal sheet (1) through a sound damping sheet (3), and the sound damping sheet (3) and the thin metal sheet (1) or the reinforcing beam (2) are out of connection, or joined only on discrete points or areas, on at least one side of the sound damping sheet (3).
