The expansion valve has an inlet and outlet for a liquid coolant, and has a valve seat (10) and sealing element (8), in order to influence the flow between them. The element can be removed from the seat, especially through being lifted, by operating equipment (22). Guide equipment (28,29,30) is arranged near to the seat, for the sealing element and or the operating equipment. The guide equipment reduces the degrees of freedom of motion across the operating direction by at least one, for the element when it is removed from the seat, and or for the operating equipment.
