<p>The flat is for a bowl (B), admitting the pipe end at the base, which fits a coachwork (C1) aperture with a resilient seal (50) which also seals the flap (T) periphery. The hinge-plate (5), retained in a flap lining (2) recess, has two parallel swan-necks (4), stiffened by webs, which, entering a box (VI) formed in the bowl wall (S), end in pivots (7) located in bearing notches (25). An inserted retaining moulding (20), securing the pivots in opposed notches, has a U-shaped spring (26). This bears upon one of two flats (6) on a crossbar between the pivots, holding the flap either closed or open. Another box (V2) holds a manually or electrically operated locking device (40) for a tongue (10) on the filler flap.</p> |
