A method for measuring a size change in crystal gain of austenite steel is provide that accurately measures a size change in crystal gain of an austenite steel by a compression experiment. The method for measuring a size change in crystal gain of austenite steel by compression experiment includes the steps of fabricating a compression experiment test piece by making a hollow-type cylinder test piece and a solid-type cylinder test piece; hot compression experimenting by using the compression test piece; cutting the compressed test piece in a lengthy direction and measuring a form change inside and outside thereof; interpreting a distribution of a process strain inside the test piece on a boundary condition of friction coefficient and a model modification on the transformed test piece on a various boundary condition with a factor interpretation and obtaining a distribution of the process strain inside the test piece; calculating the model modification interpreting result to a form change according to the test piece form; comparing the form change of the compressed test piece and the form change according to the model modification interpreting result and obtaining an identical boundary condition; and measuring the crystal grain size of the austenite steel at the test piece region having the process strain inside the compressed test piece obtained by the boundary condition with a microscope.
