This invention relates to methods of x-ray diagnostic imaging the blood pool, liver, spleen and/or lymph system of a mammal comprising administering a contrast effective amount of a contrast agent having the structure: <IMAGE> wherein: n is 0 to 12 m is 1 or 2 <IMAGE> R1 is X and Z are independently H or NR2COR3 Y is CO2, CH2O, O or NH and R2 and R3 are independently H, alkyl having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms or aryl having from 6 to 11 carbon atoms, This invention further relates to novel contrast agents having the above structure wherein R1 is <IMAGE> R2 is H and R3 is CH3 to x-ray contrast compositions comprising such agents, and to method of x-ray diagnostic imaging utilizing such agents. |
