<p>Tyres are pyrolized by moving them through a furnace (3) having a heating portion and a cooling portion. The tyres are supported on open trays (2). An inert atmosphere is maintained in the furnace. Heat output from the cooling portion is fed back to the heating portion. Some of the products of the pyrolysis are used as fuel to heat the heating portion.</p> |
