<p>Aqueous solutions containing a dithiocarbamate and an acid are used to treat oil or oil bearing formations to effect removal of paraffins and cause dewaxing, desulphurising and deasphalting. The acid is preferably acetic acid and the dithiocarbamate is preferably sodium methyl or dimethyl dithiocarbamate. The aqueous solutions do not corrode mild steel systems.</p> |
