The present invention discloses a process for catalysts preparation for light and intermediate distillates deep hydrodesulfurization, and resulting product, characterized in that it is carried out as indicated bellow: preparing a refractory material support in form of oxide such as alumina, silica, titanium, zirconium and their mixtures, preferably gamma-type alumina, with pore diameters from 10 to 100 Angstroms, preferably from 25 to 60 Angstroms, with a monomodal distribution with a minimum 10 percent of its pores from 20 to 30 Angstroms, and a surface area from 200 to 500 m2/g, preferably from 300 to 400 m2/g, and pore volumes from 0.15 to 0.8 cmn/g, preferably from 0.3 to 0.5 cmn/g; impregnating metals by an aqueous solution, prepared in basic medium with a pH from 7.5 to 12, preferably from 9 to 11, from salts containing group VIII elements, such as Ni and Co salts or else, from compounds containing group VI A elements such as Mo and W, preferably Mo; then, leaving impregnated material at rest or aging for a time of 0.5 to 12 hrs., preferably from 0.7 to 4 hrs. in order to obtain solution perfect distribution in support porosity; drying impregnated material at a temperature from 100 to 200 degree C, preferably from 110 to 150 degree C for a time of 1 to 12 hrs., preferably from 2 to 8 hrs.; calcinating impregnated material in oxidant atmosphere of 400 to 600 degree C, preferably from 400 to 550 degree C for a time of 1 to 2 hrs., preferably from 2 to 6 hrs.; finally, activating catalyst by a hydrosulfurization.
