A reradiating cell enhancer apparatus includes a wideband cell enhancer having forward channel enhancing circuitry for amplifying all forward channel signals of a plurality of forward channels received at a cell side antenna and reradiating the amplified forward channel signals via a subscriber side antenna. The wideband cell enhancer also includes reverse channel enhancing circuitry for enhancing all reverse channel signals of a plurality of reverse channel received at the subscriber side antenna and reradiating the amplified signals via de cell side antenna. A traffic monitor monitors reverse channel signal traffic activity. The wideband cell enhancer further includes a controller for controlling the amplification of the forward channel enhancing and reverse channel enhancing circuitry and further for controlling the monitoring by the traffic monitor.
