<p>The object (4) has a core which is made from sound-absorbing particles, and which is surrounded by a covering. The latter is made from sound- transmitting and sound-absorbing material, and holds the particles together in a shape which deviates from that of a flat panel. The particles may be made from an open-celled foam, which may be melamine, and may each have a volume of less than 4 cubic centimetres. The covering may be able to be printed over, and may have a shape which has advertising significance.
