Process for producing thermoplastic composite sheet

The process makes a thermoplastic composite sheet by combining a nonwoven fabric with a lining sheet (16), on at least one side. The fabric passes at constant speed through a pre-heater (3), exposed to a gas flow (6) of set velocity and temp.. The sheet is heated to a suitable lining temp., moving at the same speed as the nonwoven fabric. Fabric and sheet are united at a lining station (19). During preheating, gas temp., gas velocity and treatment path are so selected, that the preheating temp. does not exceed the m.pt. of the filaments and/or fibres, at all appropriate processing speeds including zero. During sheet heating, the lining temp. is adjustable independently of the fabric preheating temp..
