The invention pertains to a volumetric flow meter for fluid media, working on the principle of transit time, with a conduit measurement section (1) guiding the fluid medium, with two ultrasonic transducers (2, 3) which are situated at opposite ends of the conduit measurement section (1) and which send ultrasonic signals into the fluid medium and/or receive signals from the fluid medium, and with a control and evaluation circuit which measures the transit time of the ultrasonic signals between the ultrasonic transducers (2, 3) to determine the volume flow rate through the conduit measurement section (1). According to the invention, such a known volumetric flow meter is characterized in that the ultrasonic transducers (2, 3) inject the ultrasonic signals into the fluid medium through thermally insulating ultrasonic waveguides (6, 7, 8).
