METHOD AND DIE FOR MANUFACTURE OF BIMETAL DISK CUTTER BILLETS

FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing assembly composed of outer and inner rings, with outer ring being made from quick-cutting powder steel and inner ring being made from rolled products of constructional steel; producing billet by upsetting both rings having height and diameter selected according to technological gaps. Billet is worked in die provided with spring-loaded inserts mounted for loose controllable motion, with stroke value being determined by value for which outer ring end protrudes beyond inner ring end. Method allows usage of valuable quick-cutting steel to be reduced by as much as two times. EFFECT: reduced usage of quick-cutting steel by making body part of cutter from constructional steel and enhanced reliability in operation.
