FIELD: preparation of mineral tanning agent from titanium-containing raw material, more particularly chlorine-containing solution of titanyl sulfate solution. SUBSTANCE: claimed process for preparing titanium tanning agent for leathers comprises preparing original sulfate solution, stirring and cooling said solution and salting out ammonium titanyl sulfate. The salt is mixture of product resulting from evaporation of mother liquor formed after filtration of titanium banning agent suspension and ammonium sulfate at ratio of not greater than 3:1. Claimed process also comprises crystallizing and filtering the resulting suspension and treating the deposit. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process, reduced amount of sewage and ammonium sulfate and reuse of valuable components present in sewage for preparing tanning agent.
