An assembly mounted to a grounded chassis (88) and connected between first and second multi-conductor (38, 42) cables carrying a plurality of transmission line-pairs. The assembly provides transient voltage surge protection to the plurality of line-pairs. The protective circuitry (18) is mounted on a printed circuit board (32) along with connectors (10, 12) and is contained within an insulative housing (50, 52). The connectors (10, 12) of the assembly are mounted to the printed circuit board (32) and are matable with connectors (36, 40) terminating the multi-conductor cables (38, 42) so that the protective circuitry (18) is interposed in the line-pairs carried by the cables.
