Hinge for vehicle seats

The hinge has a fixed part (10) which is attached to a seat, and a moving part which can swing with its backrest. A blocking cam (20) is mounted on a spigot (19) on the fixed part so that it can pivot, and bears an adjusting arm in the form of a metal sheet (21), which is mounted on a stub axle (22) which has a radial separation from the spigot. The sheet has an elongated hole (24) which grips around the spigot, and which is curved around the stub axle. It has a supporting curve (26) which rests against a fixed supporting spigot (27), and has a surface (28) which can be brought against a releasing thumb (29) on the cam, in order to release the cam from a retaining hook (13). It also has a driving tongue (30) for the cam, in order to guide it into a position in which it secures the hook in its locking position.
