In the production of aseptic food packages, it is known to control and verify the quality of the product or the packaging container proper by removing from production and opening a number of packaging containers, in which event the quality control may take place either manually or using known, for example electric quality control methods. Thus, such control is of the so-called destructive type, i.e. the packaging containers selected for sample testing and their contents lose their commercial value. A method of carrying out quality control and a packaging container prepared to this end, or a likewise prepared packaging container blank, comprise one or more poles (12) for interconnection with electric quality control equipment (24). Hereby, the packed product (20) will be directly or indirectly electrically accessible, whereby both the quality of the packed product and the tightness of the surrounding packaging container (1) may be determined in a rational and partly automated manner. This is of particular importance in the production of aseptic packaging containers for, for instance, ready-made, heat-treated soups or similar foods.
