<p>Method for manufacturing irons which comprises the following stages: cold-working a continuous strip (1') of sheet steel in a calender provided with a press roll (4), the surface of which has closely-packed ribs (104), and with a smooth back-pressure roll (5); cutting, forming and shaping the edges (201) of the said grooved sheet steel in order to obtain a sole plate (1) for an iron, the said grooves (101) being parallel with the major axis of the said sole plate; and securing the said sole plate to the peripheral edge of the sole (2) of the iron. <IMAGE></p> |
